Shutoko
The Shuto Expressway, known in Japan as Shutoko, is Tokyo’s urban expressway road system. It consists of 320 kilometres of flyovers, tunnels, ramps and multi-lane merging that dominate the surrounding cityscape.
Ohashi Junction is a large circular structure which takes two elevated expressway routes underground via a huge spiral to join the deep level subterranean Central Circular Route. The middle area contains a football pitch whilst the roof supports a linear garden which rises from 15 to 35 metres above street level.
